Since Google owns 65 percent of the market share for search engines, a high-ranked spot on Google is the place you want to be. The higher your website or blog ranks, the more people will see it.

A large part of staying in the top spot depends on you staying up to date on the changes Google constantly makes. Google’s team changes its algorithm regularly, meaning the way websites rank on Google’s results pages is always evolving.

This means that your Internet marketing techniques may not give you the same results they’ve been giving you. With 500 different changes planned for Google this year alone, there’s a lot of SEO hoopla to keep up with.

Google Panda is one of the largest recent changes, and many smaller changes have occurred since Panda rolled out. Google put together a list of questions to help SEO and marketing gurus decide what components will boost the rankings of a website or blog. These questions cover topics like quality, originality, depth of ideas, trustworthiness, knowledge of the topic, grammar/spelling, solid data and reporting, an unbiased approach, and whether a reader would feel good recommending the resource to a friend.

The bottom line: make sure the content of your website and/or blog is quality, original, and correct. Google will reward you with high rankings.
